New ideas, new Roads to ART
Hello art friends! I've been taking a little break. As artists sometimes we need time to rejuvenate those artistic juices and guide ourselves to a new way of expressing our work. In the book The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, she expresses the need for regrouping and how to maintain the creative edge in your life. Part of it is giving yourself the "down" time and to see things in a new light.
Recently I purchased a "real" camera (even though the iPhone does quite well). I have always wanted to take meaningful pictures, of nature, of children exploring and other things that catch my eye. I recently photographed some beautiful roses in my neighborhood and I'm now working on some colored pencil botanicals. I hope to share my techniques and hold a class in May sometime. Please email me if you are interested!
I've been dabbling in watercolors, alcohol inks, doodling and journal making. I'm currently working on an expressive journal using an old book cover, torn out pages and a bit of sewing stitches. Pix coming soon! And...my popular alcohol ink class is coming once again June 17th at Craft Fusion in Chandler! Be sure to sign up early as spaces go quick in this workshop.
Stay in touch by revisiting my page. New classes are going to be held in my home in Gilbert in May! Looking forward to bringing new ways for you to explore your creative muse!
